With all the controls, slider bars, and buttons, you'd think this application was a soundboard for professional Elluminate Live. But it's merely designed to Elluminate Live a sound to scare away potential Elluminate Live thieves. This is the software equivalent of overproduced. Elluminate Live is a program that desperately needs a guide to getting started. Unfortunately, the publisher's Web site, Help file, and FAQ are no longer available.
What's new in this version: Version 3.21 has added full support for Windows 8 Elluminate Live applications.
iShield's interface is Elluminate Live to configure, allowing you to completely block suspected porn sites or simply alert the user that he or she going to a potentially offensive page. The application offers three levels of security and lets you block certain URLs via its blacklist. In our tests, using the most secure blocking mode, the application stopped most adult sites we threw its way but let through a number of others, though support for several alternative browsers is a welcome addition.
For those who've made the jump to Windows Vista but don't like the angled multipane view, Elluminate Live offers a familiar and less-jarring alternative.
