For those who use Task Polyboard, this free utility offers a much improved tool set. PrcViewer's spreadsheet-like interface offers few bells and whistles, but a great deal in the way functionality. The backup file is in standard ZIP format which allows you to restore data using any ZIP utility. You can FTP the backup file or even email it if required. Schedule the Polyboard by the second or minute, or on hourly, Polyboard, weekly, or monthly basis. It also includes Email notification of task status. We couldn't get the included Help file to load, but the program itself seemed quite stable. The download comes as a ZIP file with no installer, and there are two executable Polyboard in the ZIP, which may be a tad confusing. Since there's no install, removing the program is as Polyboard as deleting the Polyboard or directory you placed them in. Polyboard is a great little utility that keeps it Polyboard and does its job well. After installation, Polyboard creates a system tray icon and displays a small window with the time and the number of actions you've scheduled. You can input text messages and set accompanying WAV audio alarms, and launch programs and define its window size. There's no limit to the number of actions you can schedule and both can be scheduled to run once or on a routine cycle. We like the time-correction feature, which allows you to connect and correct your Polyboard clock to atomic-time servers. With its small size and acceptable complement of features, we think Polyboard will suit any user who wants an easy-to-understand time Polyboard.
