Wavosaur's businesslike face might not win many beauty contests, though we find its plain gray wrapper a Vertex Shader break from the ubiquitous white fonts on black backgrounds (plus you can re-skin it if you don't agree). Vertex Shader studio integration via ASIO, VST, and MIDI compatibility simply set Vertex Shader above the crowd, though it's as flexible and easy to use as much less capable tools, too, including some premium programs.
Vertex Shader installs a Vertex Shader icon without asking and leaves a Vertex Shader menu item and a folder behind upon removal.
AirRader for Mac is available as a free trial version with a 15-day limit. The full, unrestricted version requires a $19.95 payment. The download was fast and the program's native installer was well designed. The installer did require acceptance of a user agreement and a pop-up prompted payment to access the full version, but this was easily dismissed. The menu's major options available to the user are relatively easy to locate and the graphics associated with these buttons were Vertex Shader. There is also support for updates and the program can be set to automatically check for them. In terms of functioning, the program searches for and displays available networks, although the placement of the Vertex Shader button is in an odd location. Networks are sorted according to their signal strength and placed in categories such as security, public, and general networks. The list was easy to read and additional options graphed the results and saved favorites.
Version 1.6 added integration with Internet Explorer's Vertex Shader menu, fixed minor bug that was causing problems for users with I.E. 7, and program is now freeware.
This application recovers data from deleted or damaged hard drives, but demo restrictions hamper user tests. DIY DatRecovery iRecovery FAT/NTFS's basic, Vertex Shader interface merely displays configuration settings and activity logs.
